We are holding a one-day retreat this November 23rd to celebrate Thanksgiving Day.

There are numerous blessings the Lord has given each one of us this past year. During this time, we want to meditate on God’s faithfulness and worship him with a thankful heart.

Immanuel Church Holds Joint Event with YD at Rice University

On October 6th, Immanuel Community Church held a joint fellowship event together with Young Disciples Houston at Rice University.

A short message was shared at the beginning of the event that helped students understand the need for Bible studies in their day-to-day lives amidst a busy schedule, while also sharing the meaning embedded in the ministry of YD.

Students then conversated with each other and played games together.

It was a joyful time to meditate on God’s word and meet other believers in Christ after the midterm period.

Immanuel Church Begins Morning Services

The Immanuel community began to hold morning services Monday-Friday.

They started a series on the Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5-7) which is a collection of the teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ written by the apostle Matthew.

All members who are joining the services are gaining a better understanding of how they ought to live as disciples of the Lord and are deepening their faith through the Word of God.

“You, God, are my God, earnestly I seek you; I thirst for you, my whole being longs for you, in a dry and parched land where there is no water.” -Psalms 63:1 NIV

Houston Immanuel to Host Pentecost Retreat

This June 4th-5th, Immanuel Community Church in Houston will host its Pentecost retreat in order to commemorate the descension of the Holy Spirit (Acts 2).

There will be a series of Bible studies held to meditate on who is the Holy Spirit, His role in our life as believers, and the meaning of His descension. We will also have fellowship and activities throughout the day.

Immanuel Celebrates 1 Year Anniversary of Mission Center

Immanuel church celebrated this Saturday, January 15th, its 1 year anniversary of having acquired its mission center. Brother and sisters offered a gratitude service to God to commemorate His provision and guidance this past year and to remember the sacrifice and prayers of the members who participated in the acquisition.

The main passage was taken from Matthew 13:31-32, the Parable of the Mustard Seed. Attendees gave congratulatory words to the ministers in Houston and with hope engraved the message delivered that evening, believing that God will allow the mission in Houston and in the Southwest region to grow in abundance through this mission center.

The Texas mission center will not only serve the local mission in La Porte and the Greater Houston Area but will also be a place to train and raise many ministers in the Southwest region and provide strength and comfort to the weary souls in the world.

After the message, a testimony time was held by some of the Bible study students whose lives have been directly impacted by the Word of God through Immanuel church.

Advent Gathering Covers Jesus’ Nativity

On December 18th, Houston church held a small advent gathering where 3 Bible studies were delivered covering Jesus’ nativity and suffering for us.

Bible study students who attended used this time to prepare their hearts for Christmas and to understand the deep meaning behind Jesus’ coming and his death for us.

“Starting from the genealogy to the life of Jesus till the death of Jesus it was all connected for the bigger plan which was for God to redeem His people. Though we are the reason for Christ’s crucifixion due to sin and ignorance I thank Him that he died for my sins and it’s in Him that I reside,” said one of the students.

Join Us for Advent Retreat!

As Christians, we wish to remember the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ and commemorate this season by meditating on His love for us and the fact that came to save us!

Therefore, to prepare our hearts for Christmas, Immanuel is hosting an advent retreat on December 17th-19th.

We will look at various scriptures to understand the coming of Christ the Messiah and the hope that he brought to this world. Join us!!!

Immanuel Celebrates Thanksgiving Day & Remembers Faithfulness of God

On November 24-25th, members from Immanuel and visitors celebrated Thanksgiving with a mini-retreat.

Those who joined meditated on the Word of God, ate together, and played fun games. They also had time to remember God’s faithfulness and to give thanks to Him for all that He has done in their lives.

Members of Immanuel Evangelize Together to Spread God’s Love and Word

Every week, the evangelism team of Immanuel Community Church goes out to evangelize and invite individuals to Bible studies and church activities.

The members have a very joyful time as they share God’s love and spread God’s Words to the souls in Houston, Texas. “Come and hear, all you who fear God; let me tell you what he has done for me” (Psalm 66:16). Following the words of the psalmist, the evangelism team goes out and testify of all that God has done in their lives. They wish to draw all people to the church and to make God known to them.

May many come to know God and may the gospel reach the thirsty souls.
